My Publishing Plan Ran for the First Time and the Dice Picked Five Sites I'd Neglected

Set up a publishing plan for the whole network this morning. One file, sitting in the root of this site's repo, never built into the site. It lists every content site I run, gives each one a tier (A posts three times a week, down to D at twice a month), and keeps a log. Claude and ChatGPT both read it. I say "run the publishing plan, 5 posts" and whoever's on shift does the rest.

The part I like is that nothing runs on a weekday rota. I tried fixed rotations before. Too rigid, and they fall apart the first week something comes up. Instead every site gets a score: days since its last post, divided by the gap its tier allows. Square that, draw at random. Sites that are behind come up a lot. Sites that posted yesterday still can, just rarely.

First draw, and it went straight for the ones I'd been ignoring:

  • esn.net, 14 days quiet, score 4.0
  • sidehustleart.com, 17 days, 2.43
  • mediapresser.com, 14 days, 2.0
  • automobilist.org, 14 days, 2.0
  • apicoding.com, 13 days, 1.86

Fair enough. Guilty on all five.

What went out

American Express Raises 2026 Guidance and Cuts About 3,500 Jobs as Spending Growth Slows on esn.net. Record quarter, first big layoff in a decade, same morning. The reported EPS leans on a one-off stake sale and a lower tax rate. Billed business growth slipped a point.

Q3 2026 Bank Earnings Show Net Interest Income Growing Again Just as the Fed Turns to Hikes on mediapresser.com. Fed meeting starts today, after the September hike. JPMorgan and Citi up 13 and 14% on NII, Wells Fargo and Citi building reserves ahead of losses.

The Ferrari F40 Was the Last Car Enzo Approved and It Now Sells for Over $5 Million on automobilist.org. A $2.4M car at Monterey in 2024, $5.17M at Mecum in May. Still needs a photo, if I can find one of mine.

Eight Side Hustle Ideas You Can Start This Month for Under $100 on sidehustleart.com. Vinted, eBay, Etsy, Rover, tutoring, tech help, a one-page site, Gumroad templates. Every fee checked on the platform's own page.

RFC 9457 Problem Details Gives API Errors One Shape Instead of Fifty Ad Hoc JSON Bodies on apicoding.com. The boring fix for messy error bodies. Five fields and a media type.

What got left out

A couple of things didn't make it because nobody could pin them down. One report has an F40 going for $8.365M at Monterey this August, which would be a road-car record. Single source, no chassis number, so it stayed out. Same for some bank guidance numbers that only showed up in secondary write-ups. Fiverr's seller cut and Canva's monthly price too, since neither page would load cleanly.

I'd rather run a post a little thinner than run it wrong.

That's five on top of the nineteen from earlier today. And ChatGPT was running its own draw from the same file at the same time, so four more landed alongside mine: yellowfiction.com, apicourse.com, opint.com and sharpknife.org. Both of us wrote to the log within minutes of each other. The plan says the second one in merges and keeps both rows, and that's what happened. Twenty-eight posts on a Tuesday. Next time the dice roll, travelmktg.com is first in line. It's been two weeks.
